Every year, healthcare delegates convene from the Asia Pacific and other regions including Australia, Japan, Korea, Russia, USA, Switzerland, Netherlands & United Kingdom; adding to the ever-expanding international presence at SHBC. A record 3,500 delegates converged at SHBC 2018.Our SHBC Scientific Competition remains the most prestigious and recognised local competition among abstract submitters, attracting about 600 submissions locally and around the region.

As the healthcare landscape evolves at a rapid pace, technology has become an integral part of our healthcare system. Technology enables innovation allowing us to improve productivity and create greater value for our patients – this is the message behind this year’s theme of “Sustainable Healthcare through Innovation”.

SHBC 2019 will span 3 days. Our organizing team is excited to have invited distinguished local and overseas speakers to discuss the ‘3 Beyonds’ vision for Singapore healthcare – ‘Beyond Quality to Value, Beyond the Hospital to the Community & Beyond Healthcare to Health’. International Expert Keynote Speakers will share their expertise and world-class knowledge on current healthcare problems and deliberate over potential solutions that will enable us to provide value in line with NHG’s vision – “Adding Years of Healthy Life” to the population that we serve.

Day 2 will see us hosting well-received tracks that are weaved into our “River of Life” concept of population health (from “Living Well” to “Leaving Well”), integrating traditional favourites such as Mental Health, Metabolic Disease, Cancer & Palliative Care. The Primary Care Forum continues to take its place as one of the key highlights of the congress. Non-clinical specialty topics such as serve to highlight NHG Staff Values – People-Centredness (Design Thinking), Integrity, Compassion (Humanities in Healthcare) and Stewardship (Organisational Development) will appeal to administrators and non-clinicians alike.

Day 3 will see our event at the newly built Ng Teng Fong Centre for Healthcare Innovation at Novena Health City, where we will jointly celebrate the past, present and future of “Caring for Central Singapore”, in conjunction with 175th anniversary of Tan Tock Seng Hospital. We will be inviting luminaries from our health system in the past, present and future to engage in inspiring discussions of healthcare delivery.

Adding complete diversity to the congress is the ever-expanding SHBC Exhibition which, through our Innovation Galleria this year, will feature renowned exhibitors from various disciplines, displaying cutting-edge products, technology and services that are well aligned to our conference theme of Healthcare Innovation.
